Product Overview and Introduction

Discover a fascinating and rare piece of international military contracting history with the Star Model 30MI “Indian Contract” 9mm Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol. Produced by Bonifacio Echeverría S.A. in Eibar, Spain, the Model 30MI variant was manufactured specifically to fulfill specialized foreign military export orders—most notably for security and armed forces trials in India. Building upon the legendary, over-engineered foundation of the standard Model 30M, the “Indian Contract” version features distinct physical refinements and a slightly extended barrel, making it one of the most sought-after collector variations among Spanish service pistol enthusiasts.

Chambered in the ubiquitous 9mm Luger (9x19mm NATO) cartridge, this rare surplus sidearm combines heavy-duty all-steel durability with unique historical pedigree.

Rare Contract Variations and Robust All-Steel Build

The Star Model 30MI stands apart through its unique contract specifications and rock-solid mechanical design:

• Extended 4.5-Inch Barrel: Slightly longer than the standard domestic service model, providing enhanced sight radius, slightly higher muzzle velocity, and superior inherent accuracy.

• Heavy-Duty All-Steel Construction: Forged from solid steel components, delivering a reassuring, balanced weight that easily tames 9mm recoil and ensures lifelong durability.

• Modified Browning Linkless System: Engineered for absolute operational reliability, smooth feeding, and effortless maintenance under adverse field conditions.

• Contract-Specific Markings: Features distinctive proof marks and export stamps that tell the unique story of its specialized military production run.

Collector Prestige and Rarity

Standard Star service pistols are already celebrated for their robust military heritage, but specialized export variants like the Indian Contract 30MI are produced in much more limited numbers. Finding examples in collector-worthy condition offers a unique opportunity to own a scarce piece of Cold War-era international defense manufacturing.
