Product Overview and Introduction

Take your long-range accuracy and big-game hunting performance to the next level with the American Pioneer Jim Shockey’s Gold FFg Black Powder Substitute (1-lb Canister). Developed in collaboration with legendary professional hunter Jim Shockey, this premium loose propellant is engineered specifically for full-sized muzzleloading rifles, muskets, and large-caliber hunting firearms requiring a progressive-burning FFg (2F) granulation.

Whether you are preparing for hunting season or fine-tuning long-range target loads, Jim Shockey’s Gold gives handloaders complete freedom in custom volumetric measuring while delivering exceptional velocity consistency and reliable ignition without the heavy maintenance drawbacks of vintage black powder.

Endorsed by Jim Shockey for Professional Reliability

When performance counts in demanding backcountry conditions, professional outdoorsmen trust Jim Shockey’s Gold. The specialized FFg medium granulation features a controlled, progressive burn rate that makes it the optimal choice for:

• Large-Caliber Rifles: Delivers smooth pressure curves and optimum velocity for 50-caliber and larger muzzleloading firearms.

• Muskets and Shotguns: Ensures complete, efficient combustion in larger-bore barrels for maximum energy transfer downrange.

• Custom Handloading: Allows you to precisely dial in your grain charges using standard volumetric powder measures.

Clean-Burning, Sulfurless Formula

Traditional black powders leave behind thick, highly corrosive fouling due to their sulfur content. American Pioneer utilizes an advanced sulfurless formulation that revolutionizes firearm maintenance:

• Non-Corrosive Protection: Protects your valuable barrel rifling and breech plugs from rust and pitting.

• Low Residue Build-Up: Drastically cuts down on barrel fouling, letting you shoot significantly more rounds between cleanings without loader jamming.

• Odorless Operation: Completely eliminates the heavy, pungent “rotten egg” smell associated with vintage propellants.

Effortless Water-Soluble Cleanup

Post-shoot maintenance requires zero harsh, toxic chemical solvents. Because Jim Shockey’s Gold is 100% water-soluble, cleanup is as simple as wiping the bore with a patch dampened with ordinary tap water. Dissolve the residue instantly and restore your firearm to pristine condition in minutes.
